The protection of your personal data is very important to ÖkoFEN Forschungs- und Entwicklungs GesmbH (hereinafter “we” or “us”) and its subsidiaries (together “ÖkoFEN”). ÖkoFEN observes the applicable legal regulations on the protection, legitimate use, confidentiality of personal data and data security, in particular the Austrian Data Protection Act (“DSG”), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Telecommunications Act (“TKG”).

This data protection statement provides you with information on the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of your personal data by us in connection with your visit and you use of ÖkoFEN’s online content, including the online function of ÖkoFEN products via the portal and via the myPelletronic app.


2. Contacting us

If you contact us (either via e-mail, by telephone, at a trade fair or by any other method), we will process the personal data you provide (name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and your enquiry or corresponding documentation) for the purpose of sending product information and for subsequent correspondence.

Your data will be transmitted to the appropriate regional representative/sales technician for the purpose of subsequent correspondence (e.g. to agree a consultation appointment). If necessary, your personal data will be forwarded to an installation company in your area for further pre-sales activities (consultation appointment, quotation).


3. Analysis tools

4. Newsletter


Data processing

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we will require your e-mail address, first name, surname and title. This data is collected on a voluntary basis. This data is used exclusively to send the requested information and will not be shared with third parties.


The data entered into the newsletter subscription form is processed solely with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke your consent to the storage of your data and its use for the sending of the newsletter by following the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of any data processing operations carried out will not be affected by withdrawal.


We will store the data you provide us in order to receive the newsletter until you cancel your subscription, and we will erase the data when you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data that we have stored for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the members area) will not be affected.



This website uses CleverReach‘s services for sending newsletters. The provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany. CleverReach is a service which allows the distribution of newsletters to be organised and analysed.  The data you provide so that you can receive a newsletter is stored on the servers of CleverReach in Germany and Ireland.


The newsletters we send with CleverReach allow us to analyse the behaviour of newsletter recipients. We can analyse, for example, how many recipients have opened the newsletter e-mail and how often which link in the newsletter has been clicked. The data collected in this way will be processed with your consent (Article 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The lawfulness of any data processing operations carried out will not be affected by withdrawal. If you do not want your data analysed by CleverReach, you will need to unsubscribe from the newsletter. To allow you to do this, we provide a link in each newsletter email. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletterdirectly on the website itself.


We will store the data you provide us in order to receive the newsletter until you cancel your subscription and erase it from both our servers and CleverReach’s servers when you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data that we have stored for other purposes will not be affected.

5. Use of app


Data processing/Data storage

When you connect your heating system to the Internet, a link is automatically established with the server and we process the following data:

  • Number of the operating device (starting with P)
  • IP address: For products with software version up to and including 2.05 the IP address is stored permanently. For products with software version 2.06 or higher the IP address is stored for 60 days for the purpose of troubleshooting.

We do not store personal data or the positioning data of the mobile device on which the myPelletronic app is installed. Any data displayed when using is live data. This data is only stored on the operating device for a period of 5 days. It is only data that is generated or determined by the devices or sensors connected to your energy management Pelletronic Touch.


Member data

You can enter member data to describe the system in greater detail. All of the data entered in these fields is sent to ÖkoFEN.


Support centre

Heating system users have the option to give one or more external supporters (ÖkoFEN customer service technicians or installers) access to their system in the support administration area. The supporter ID number required to do this is available from the support directly. Heating system users can decide at any time to withdraw or grant access authorisation to supports in the system management area on (not available in the app).


Approve customer service

Enabling the “Approve customer service” option gives the central ÖkoFEN customer service team access to the system. Access may be useful to provide an immediate solution to support requests. This approval can be enabled or disabled by the user at any time.



To make the Internet connection and remote maintenance via an Internet browser as secure as possible, the web portal is encrypted with the https protocol. Despite this measure there remains a small security risk, which can be minimised by using client-side security technologies.

Withdrawing your consent to data processing

You can withdraw your consent to data processing at any time. To do this, simply write to your controller. The legality of any data processing carried out before you withdraw your consent will not be affected by withdrawal of your consent.


Access, blocking and erasure

You have the right to be given, free of charge, information about any personal data kept about you by ÖkoFEN, the source of the data, the recipient of the data, and the reason why your personal data was processed, and you have the right to ask for the data to be rectified or erased, and access to it blocked.
