Even though the air heat pump uses a renewable energy source, it requires additional electricity to support heat production. With the intelligent control of the GreenFOX heat pump, it is now possible - for the first time worldwide - to use low-CO2 electricity mostly when using external electricity and thus to heat really green.
The GreenFOX heat pump accesses a database that imports country-specific live electricity forecasts. These show where the electricity comes from and how "green", i.e. ecological, it is currently being produced. If, for example, electricity from coal-fired power plants is being used, the heat pump reacts and shifts its standard heating times towards a "greener electricity window". So it heats when it can use low-CO2 electricity.
Even if we produce our own electricity with the help of our own PV systems and use it to generate heat, we have to resort to external electricity in phases with little or no yield. If self-generated electricity is available, the heat pump uses it. At other times, the GreenMode ensures that you continue to heat as green as possible: If necessary, the use of electricity is shifted to a greener phase, your heating comfort remains the same.

The smart control, which also uses weather forecasts, automatically adjusts the heating operation depending on the green electricity supply. If external power consumption is unavoidable, the electricity price and costs play a central role.
But the GreenFOX heat pump accesses the electricity price exchange via a database and automatically reacts to fluctuations. If, for example, a price increase or peak occurs during a "standard heating period", the controller optimizes the heating times of the heating system so that heating is simply carried out during a cheaper period. In this way, you are automatically supplied with electricity that is as green AND as cheap as possible.

The GreenFOX heat pump can be expanded at any time with an ÖkoFEN pellet heating system to form a hybrid system. So you are always well prepared, no matter what the future holds - whether you expand your house, the electricity becomes more expensive or peaks occur. A hybrid system also protects the components of both systems and extends their service life. And: You minimize the dependency on one energy source!
The GreenFOX heat pump from ÖkoFEN is a flexible, holistic heating system with really green energy.
An air source heat pump uses the ambient air as an energy source and requires electricity as the driving energy to heat a building.
An integrated fan sucks in the air from the environment and heats the refrigerant contained in the device, which plays a central role in this process.
As a result of the heating, the refrigerant first evaporates before it is brought to the required temperature level and compressed in the process.
The heat that is generated is transferred to the heating system in the house - e.g. to underfloor heating. When cooling the house, the process is reversed.
A cooling process cools the refrigerant down and liquefies it. A brief relaxation phase follows before the cycle begins again.
